This promising tree struck me as a keeper because I like reclining trees. This tree is reclining. This species, lonicera, is fast growing so I though this could be a quick kind of tree.
Because I was keeping this tree, I put it in a bonsai pot. It has gone through one growing season. The crown has thickened considerably in that short time. This plant is very vigourous. This result is not typically so fast.
This is after one more growing season. The tree is crowning in nicely. I will show you the details in the pictures down below.
The roots have not changed. They don't change much ever. My company is dedicated to finding and producing trees with great root structures.
The branching is clearing out. I don't need to keep the smaller, twiggy branches to give mass to the crown. The larger branches provide that mass. Opening up the secondary branches increases the illusion that you could sit under the tree.
The crown is filling in. The yellow line represents an ideal crown shape. The tree is quickly accomplishing this.
